Cant make any predictions as Ive done in past elections. Some seats seem quite safe. Especially the uncontested ones. Still, there are some aspects of this election that caught my eye: The electorate has been handed over to the angry white men and those political extremists who constitute the tea party and various other groups who cant stand the President. We hear that the election is not so much about the candidates, rather, if theyre aligned with the President or not. Thats the same President who has succeeded in reducing the deficit, adding jobs and stimulating the stock market in the six years following the greatest economic collapse since the Great Depression. That one. So if the students who were so full of hope in 2008 and the minority voters who are disillusioned over a specific issue, if this base stays home, then theyre going to get the government that they deserve. The oligarchs will win, and David Simon will be right:
