Cant really understand why this album has the lowest average score - TopicsExpress

Cant really understand why this album has the lowest average score out of any Summoning release on metal-archives besides Lugburz (which also doesnt make sense). Hell, even the Lost Tales EP of spoken word-ambient B-side crap gets a 79 instead of a 74. And this is way better than the more uninspired boring cheerful sounding Summoning albums like Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fate and Oath Bound. Sure, it doesnt have the amateur youthful spirit of Minas Morgul or the mirk(wood)y quality of Dol Goldur and Nightshade Forests, but includes most everything that made all these albums great (even the singsongy chanty vocal stuff reminiscent of LMHSYF and OB are done far more effectively here) and adds far more layering of keyboard melodies and percussion. The crystal production works here because it has to be in order to make sense of the dense instrumental layering, and the songs are better than ever. And while it does get tiresome with its at times predictable, repetitive, catchy-ness (as all of Summoning indeed will), even in this minor negative, isnt as extreme as it is with Stronghold. https://youtube/watch?v=a-k7ugMCSRU
