Cant wait to see The James Brown flic this weekend. Im going to try and get there early to avoid the folks who make their own soundtrack. When I was a student at Virginia Union University in the early 70s, there was a male and female student on campus that had a full scholarship each from James Brown. There were JB scholarship recipients at campuses all over the south. There are artists that have made more money than JB but have not done that, or anything like it. He paid ALL their expenses,all they had to do was show up and go to class. Those of us who have been on Black campuses know the struggle some students and their parents have to stay in school. I was in the dorm with guys who had to wash their clothes in the shower. RIP JB you done good.
