Cantors Telephone message for January 23-24, 2015: The title of this weeks Torah portion is Bo which means both go and come. In the portion, God tells Moses to go to Pharaoh to tell him to Let My people go. To welcome Shabbat, we sing, Bo-i Kallah, - come, Sabbath Bride. Now Im as excited as you about the wonderful musicale planned for Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. with J. David Williams, Anthony Turner, Maxine and myself, but if you are thinking that you only want to come once to temple over this weekend, then I say to you, Bo! Come to welcome Shabbat in the sanctuary this evening, or to hear the Torah read in the sanctuary tomorrow morning. If snow conditions make it necessary to cancel morning services, a phone tree call will be made by 9 a.m. Shabbat Shalom. This weeks calendar: Friday, January 23, 8:00 p.m.: Shabbat service in the sanctuary. Saturday, January 24, 10:30 a.m.: Shabbat service in the sanctuary. Sunday, January 25, 4 p.m. Musicale in the sanctuary followed by reception in the social hall. Special guests, Dr. J. David Williams and Anthony Turner, with Cantor Bernstein and Maxine Feldman. Presented by the family of Grace Schneider in honor of her 90th birthday. Tuesday, January 27 12:00 noon: Torah study, Parshat Beshalach, Second Triennial cycle: Exodus 14:15-16:10 6:00 p.m.: Modern Hebrew Poetry for Hebrew readers 7:30 p.m.: Choir Next Shabbat, January 30 and 31, is Shabbat Shira. We will celebrate Tu BShevat on Saturday after services in advance of the holiday. Please call the Temple office regarding seating as the reservation deadline has now passed.
