Cape Canaveral Scientific proposal wins $1.25 million directly benefits estuary. Yesterday Brevard County Parks & Recreation celebrated the expansion of its waterfront Veterans Park with the opening of an 80-acre multi-use waterfront parcel. Funding was generated by a proposal written and presented by Amy Adams of Cape Canaveral Scientific, which won $1.25 million in grant awards. The $2 million park includes a 22-acre lake that cleanses storm water and #contaminants before it runs into the #IndianRiverLagoon. The new waterfront land will also include salt and fresh water wetlands, walking trails, #wildlife observation area, a picnic pavilion, playground and a canoe/kayak launching area where more than nine endangered species reside.
