Capsule Review of The Monuments Men I was very much looking forward to this film, mostly due to the cast and interesting premise that seemed to contain some nice quirky comedy. Well I can say if definetly delivers very well, if not fantastically. The cast is phenomenal, but I mean hey its George Clooney, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, and Bill Murray among others, how can it not be? I loved the dialogue and brief but effective moments of humor. The basic premise is a decision of art scholars is put into the battlefront on a mission to recover stolen and stored art that was lost on the WWIII stricken European front. I thought, again, the humor in places was fantastic, and the performances phenomenal. The score was great, light hearted when needed and poignant when needed, also done by Godzilla composer Alexandre Desplat. Ill admit, Im a sucker for war drama and quirky drama in movies, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. I strongly recommend it. ~Jose
