Capt. Casey Wolfe was a platoon leader assigned to 4th Squadron, 4th Cavalry in December 2011 when he stepped on a pressure-plate IED during a mission. What doctors first thought was a broken ankle turned out to be much worse, and Wofe almost lost his leg. Almost three years later, Wolfe returned to Afghanistan with three other #WoundedWarriors as part of #OperationProperExit, a program that allows those evacuated from combat to return to and leave the country on their own terms. While enroute to Afghanistan, Wolfe visited with members of the Pale Riders squadron, which is serving in Kuwait: https://facebook/#!/media/set/?set=a.953869314627527.1073741923.1446132792217854&type=1 The Wounded Warriors also met with Gen. John F. Campbell: https://facebook/home.php#!/media/set/?set=a.372020169621650.1073742128.162243273932675&type=1. Wolfe defied doctors predictions and returned to duty 11 months after he was wounded. He now leads the Commanding Generals Mounted Color Guard.
