Captain Emmanuel Ihenacho Campaign Organization - CICO ENOUGH OF THIS FALSEHOOD AGAINST CAPT IHENACHO It has been noticed that each time some members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State are not happy with the way the leadership of the party in Imo State is being re-structured, they resort to blackmailing the former Minister of Interior Capt Emmanuel Ihenacho. We have at various press releases unequivocally debunked this malicious lies peddled by some misinformed members of APGA in the state. In our last press release dated the 14th August, 2014 with the caption ‘CAPT. IHENACHO IS NOT INSTRUMENTAL TO DISSOLUTION OF APGA EXECUTIVES IN IMO STATE’, we among other things, made it clear that Capt Ihenacho had’… at no time engineered, interfered, instigated or influenced any restructuring of APGA executives at any level…’. In that press release, we also called on APGA members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard any of such rumours or propaganda as they were only intended to smear the image of an innocent man. It is still surprising that afterwards, some persons have continued to instigate some sections of Owerri-based print media to continue peddling this false, callous and malicious blackmail and media hype only to run down a man whom many people have testified for his goodness. The irony in this devilish propaganda is that none of the stories contain facts that show how the former minister is destroying Imo APGA. Regrettably, it could be recalled that when Governor Rochas Okorocha dumped APGA, he ‘passed a death sentence on it’. Interestingly, Captain Ihenacho’s membership of APGA was a clarion call by many members of the public and APGA faithful. He did not join the party out of selfish interest. His decampment to APGA is a rare one because when others who rode to power under the platform of the party were dumping the party, Capt Ihenacho left the party that made him a minister to come over to APGA. Nevertheless, we are not surprised at this blackmail because we are aware of those fuelling it. The sponsors are doing it without any good objective but only to run an innocent man with an intimidating track record down. The irony is that while the blackmail is exposing the callosity and desperation of the sponsors, it is invariably eliciting the maturity and ingenuity of the former minister making him more popular. Since 2007, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued to lose governorship elections in Imo State because of internal crisis. This should be very instructive to Imo APGA. Therefore, if Imo APGA exhausts its arsenal and inflicts itself with devastating ‘injuries’ in in-fighting, it will be left with a situation of helplessness and hopelessness when the main ‘battle’ starts. The party should remember that the Imo electorate is now more sensitive, sophisticated and enlightened and will hardly identify with a party that is engulfed with crisis, indiscipline and disorder. However, we are happy that the party which was ‘a rejected stone before now’ has once again regained its pride of place in the state and this could not have been possible if not that persons of integrity like Capt Ihenacho have joined the party. Be that as it may, the task ahead of APGA is enormous. In 2015 elections, APGA is going to political battle against two incumbent powers; one in the state and some others who are controlling the power in the center. Therefore, in the spirit of the motto of the party, which is ‘Onye Aghala Nwanne Ya’, let APGA members in Imo State desist from all acts that are counter productive because the electorates are watching. Finally, if members of Imo APGA want the party to win elections in 2015, it must stop this act of callosity because the Igbos are known to be their brother’s keeper and not their brother’s destroyer. Therefore if APGA is truly an Igbo party, then, members of the party should bury their hatched now, save it for the real ‘fight’ and show the world that they are indeed their brothers’ keeper. ‘A word they say is enough for the wise’.
