Captain Up Launches to Boost User Engagement, Retention (#socialmedia info) Captain Up, an engagement and retention platform which specializes in gaming and social tools, has announced its global public launch. The company aims to turn casual app and website users into loyal customers through the integration of user retention and monetization tools, which make experiences feel more social, or feel more like games. The Captain Up platform can be integrated into websites, or into iOS and Android applications. The platform introduces gaming tools to a user’s experience, such as points systems, badges, levels, tournaments and rewards. This is alongside social features, including content sharing, gifting, leaderboards, messaging and activity feeds. The company says by implementing the system, companies will see increased user engagement and retention, even if they keep its default settings. This occurs as developers or website managers can incentivize certain actions, such as sharing content with friends, watching videos, registering for accounts and more, giving them badges and other rewards for doing so. Early adopters of the Captain Up functionality have reportedly seen hefty results after its implementation. For instance, users have watched videos, on average, 10 times more than they did before. In addition, websites have seen Facebook likes and shares double following the Captain Up activation. In a statement, Uri Admon, CEO of Captain Up, commented on the platform’s early success: We’ve seen 200-800 percent increase in engagement, retention, and virality in apps and sites that have integrated Captain Up to their platform. Be it online retailers, content owners or gaming companies, once user acquisition is done, the real challenge begins – maximizing user lifetime value and customer loyalty. Captain Up has also announced its partnership with Professor Dan Ariely. The pair will add game mechanics and other features to clients such as MindTools, a management and leadership training platform. Ariely adds: Engagement and retention are the biggest challenges facing online services today. The project we teamed up for aims to bring the lessons of behavioral economics to online users worldwide. More information on the Captain Up platform is available here. Captain Up is one of many which aim to increase user engagement by providing consumers with rewards.
