Captains Log - stardate 113324.7 The seemingly endless journey continues. Provision levels remain sufficient. Each day I survey the horizon but there is no end in sight. I fear I may be doomed to an eternity of home improvement projects. I spent over a week working in the attic fortifying the roof trusses and adding insulation. Naturally I avoided all those protruding old nails until 2 hours before I finished, isnt that just how it always goes. A nail puncture right in the funny bone on the elbow. Yea, so I got the tetanus booster shot and who knows whatever else the government is putting into vaccines these days. I could not avoid knocking my head into the ceiling more times that I care to count. But its done. Hey, I got the shed built in back too. No kit job there..just a man with tools, lumber, and a plan in his head. Kinda scary huh. Somehow I even got roofing tar in my eyebrow. That nail gun is fun though. How I yearned for those days of dolce far niente by the pool. However, I think this is some great monk training as I am like 98% cloistered now. I just hope this continues to be a Captains Log and not a Diary of a Madman.
