P *1 Lt Pat M Williams No MACR:- T/O Horsham St Faith on fighter sweep in the Knokke / Courtrai / Dunkirk area. Seen to make a half roll at 30,000ft and enter a steep dive. Repeated calls from other pilots received no response and it is possible oxygen failure was the reason for this loss. Crashed in the village of Moorsele, due west of Kortrijk, Belgium. KIA. Note:- Buried in Epinal Cemetery, Plot B-17-31. 138
