Caption: Christ Is The Light Text. : Ephesians 1:18 Eph 1:18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, This was a prayer of Paul for the believers(The Body Of Christ) that they get to know God. And it is a prayer we must still be praying in these present times. Paul knew what he had encountered with the Lord, the hope he had received, the joy of being in the Lord, which I believe by by his prayer offered, that he wants every believer to come to that point of realisation of the Truth and Light he had seen. That Truth and Light brought him freedom in the midst of all the oppositions around him. Wherever there is darkness, there, is deception. How? Imagine yourself in a strange fully-furnished room in a new environment, where every light has been switched off. It is obvious that as you move about in that room, your movements will be restricted because you are not seeing clearly as a result of the fact that there is no light to direct your path. Also, you will end up hitting your body against the things that you do not have a view of yet exist in the room. But when the light turned on, you are able to move about freely and faster in the room simply because the light makes you realise the very things that were restricting your movements. Light always brings us to a point of realisation of every truth. When there is light, we do not stumble. The light does not deny the fact that there are impediments or obstacles, rather, it gives us a clear vision of the obstacles. The vision of the obstacles makes us aware of them and gives us knowledge of them so that we will know how to find our way out. CHRIST JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THIS WORLD AND OUR LIVES. The constitution is the highest law of a land and that is what is used in ruling and governing the land. The knowledge of it provides guidance and enlightens you as to how to live a trouble-free life and overcome the troubles of the land, amidst all the troubles and challenges on that land. The constitution then becomes a light to those who abide by it because by it, they are able to overcome the troubles of the land. The Bible is the Constitution of this world. It contains Gods instructions, which is light to those who abide by it. But the reading and study of the bible is not enough for us. Reading it helps us to only know about God. But do we know Him personally? Reading biographical information or historical data about a person makes you know a lot about the person, but wont make you know him or her actually. Meeting and spending time with the person and having a relationship with the person is what makes you know him personally. The bible is the graphical word of God, it is the graphical representation of God. but Christ is the true and revelational Word of God that brings light into our lives. Spending time with the word and fellowship with the Spirit brings us to the revelational Word of God, and that is Christ Jesus Himself. He is the True Light who guides and directs us. Everything that has been written in the bible is pointing and directing us to the Person of Christ Jesus. Joh 5:39 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, Joh 5:40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life. It is good to know more about Christ Jesus, but it is best the encounter and know Him personally. The knowledge of Him helps us understand better the life we have been called to live. He is the True Light. The knowledge of Christ personally by Paul is what helped him in his walk of faith with the Lord. 2Ti 1:12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. Prayer: Lord, today, I agree with Paul in his prayer. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, that I may know the hope to which You have called me, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and Your incomparably great power for us who believe. Amen. Seasoned DEVOTIONAL
