Car # 4 Isn’t Diversity WONDERFUL? And necessary My simple version of my wish for car #4 is that people as a whole remember the value of diversity before negatively judging things they consider “different” from what they commonly like , feel comfortable with or understand. Short of there being only one exactly identical non varying substance- we are going to have some differences running around. For me the differences/ contrasts make living this life something worth doing. I marvel at the variety in everything. We are gifted to have in our lives so many different things, life forms, tastes, colors, textures, sights, sounds, people, places, ideas, Ad Infinitum. Yes… even feelings/emotions(sorrow taught me joy)! Having said all of that… there are still times I just can’t wrap my head around WHY someone would like or dislike certain things. For instance, how anyone can enjoy watching golf ON TV or enjoy eating food that makes them CRY and hampers their ability to BREATHE. I get caught up in trying to understand on a personal level something that just ISN’T for me to understand. At times like that, a person very dear to me will say “Isn’t Diversity Wonderful?” He’s right~ it IS ! END NOTE: A categorical judgment that can happen without us even being aware of it. I’d like everyone to remember …. if a negative encounter with a limburger has occurred in your life, it doesn’t categorically rule out all cheeses as a possible snack choice …maybe try a swiss or mild cheddar before deciding to hate all cheese.
