Car Care Buy the lowest grade of gasoline that is appropriate for your car. Unless your car requires premium gasoline, filling up your car with high-octane fuel is a waste of money. Premium fuel wont boost your cars fuel economy or performance. If youre not sure what grade of fuel works best for your car, check your owners manual. As long as your engine doesnt knock or ping when you fuel up with regular unleaded, youre good to go. Passing on pricey premium gasoline will save you money.
