Car vs Home Everyone wants to find that special someone. They - TopicsExpress

Car vs Home Everyone wants to find that special someone. They want that person to live for and their reason to get up in the morning; the one soul mate that can make them happy and give them purpose. It is so much easier to search in other people what we really should be getting from ourselves. If you’re single it’s tough to say “I’m with myself” instead of “by myself.” Finding that “special someone” is like buying a new car. You would love to have that Lamborghini but you would settle for that Mercedes. We all picture a “Prince or Princess Charming.” Picture this’ “true love” is a shiny new car. If what you want is someone to complete you, than know that as soon as you drive off the lot their worth to you, like a quick high, will start to depreciate. The return on your investment will decline. Years down the road what once seemed like a dream come true has become an old model. It doesn’t give you the satisfaction you thirst for because you want an internal feeling from an external object. Now picture your relationship with yourself as a new home. If you have been neglecting it then the outside is in need of repairs and the inside can be filthy and breaking down. The lawn may be dried and wilted. It’s a poor sight and you look at it and think “who would ever want to live in that?” This could be a reason to go get that new car. “Maybe with a BMW parked in front it would look so bad.” What if you started making small changes over time? You did some small repairs; you painted inside to your preference. You watered the lawn. Then you grown to change out the paneling and add more improvement, really invest in your home. After a few years not only do you have a wonderful home that looks beautiful to outsiders but you feel good about living here. It gives you incredible satisfaction and pride. The value of the house has increased because you care enough to work on the exterior and interior. All the money that might have been spent on an expensive vehicle has gone into your home and it has become an exponential earning to your self esteem and your quality of life. Treated yourself as your home because then no matter what car is parked on your lot you will always have something of greater value.
