Carbon Neutral, clean green villages - a Mission Challenge Dear friends, all of you may be enjoying the Deepavali in your villages and cities. I propose a challenge to all those who would like to be a future leaders of this nation. Take up this challenge you will become a great leader. Take up this challenge as a Social Entrepreneur and leader of your village. 1. 100 Kwh Power generation from the bio-digester through Centralized drainage system and generate sustainable revenue for your village. 2. 50000 liters of RO water per day through used water and rain harvesting infrastructure. 3. Solar lighting for Street lights. 4. Achieve Carbon neutral, Clean and Green village Let us use our knowledge, influence, leadership quality embedded in each and every one of you, to create an awareness in your village panchayat or city municipal, or corporation to implement this mission. A future leader in you should create a movement in your village through your friends, ignited minds of the youth, with the support of local Panchayat board president and ward councillors to evolve Carbon neutral clean and green village. Recently Prime Minister has announced a Saasad Adarsh Gram Yojana and requested MPs to adopt 3 villages. I have suggested this mission to Honble Prime Minister to consider and implement. (Attached the letter) Involve the local educational institutions for R&D support, Industries for CSR support, involve the local philanthropists, MLAs, MPs and Collector and good hearted people to support funding this mission and approach the State and Central government for matching fund through various projects. I will extend the necessary support in this mission to realize the Carbon Neutral, Clean and Green Villages. Experts from my letter to PM on Saasad Adarsh Gram Yojana. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ......... ........... Another great plan announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister to utilize the MPLAD funds of MPs in an innovative way. One major suggestion is to create a sustainable drainage, energy and water infrastructure for every village as per the following plan – “Sustainable Clean and Green villages” 1. In each village, create a centralized drainage system through underground pipe infrastructure – one pipe for waste water collection, another pipe for municipal waste from toilets. a. Which can be connected to the each household to collect the daily waste water collection from the daily usage from the kitchen and other means of used water. Rain water harvesting infrastructure also can be created and pooled into a central place. b. Each household can be created with toilets which can be connected to the centralized drainage system. [Note: Today govt’s 100% sanitation (Nirmal Puraskhar Award) creates an individual toilets with local pit majority of which are not operational in many places due to non-availability of water and proper maintenance. Hence we need a recycle system for getting water – which is mentioned below] 2. Waste water collection can be pooled into a central place where the natural RO layer can be created using big stone rubbles, small stone rubbles, river sand, coal, coal powder and other materials which can purify the water and percolate into nearby bore well, which can be further converted into RO System for getting purified water for the usage of the village people drinking water purpose. 1/3rd residue water generated from RO can be used for bathing and cleaning purposes to the household. So water recycling is done effectively. 3. Municipal waste from the village toilets can be collected in a central place and the Bio-digester designed and developed by DST (Dept. of Science & Technology) can be implemented to generate bio-gas which can generate 50 to 100 Kwh power from each village or cluster of 3 villages with the population of 3000 people. (Pilot plant running in Periyar Maniammai University, Tanjore, TN and 5 other universities in India) 4. These 100 Kwh power from each village can be evacuated to power grid or can be used for village/agriculture and local industrial consumption, which will be the sustainable revenue generation to the village panchayat. 5. The total project may cost around Rs. 1.7 crore in each village to create centralized drainage system and to create water, energy and to achieve 100% sanitation in the villages. 6. If Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is used to implement this scheme first, you will have 545 + 245 = 790 x 3 = 2370 villages will become a clean and green villages per year. 7. If this programme is extended to all the states, then 4120 MLAs can adopt at least 1 village per year as per your programme, then it will create “Clean and Green villages”. 8. 20600 village panchayats from MLA Funds, 11850 village panchayat from MPS fund in 5 year term, then 32450 villages can be made into “Sustainable Clean and Green villages” 9. If the industries are given a tax free to adopt the villages through their CSR Initiatives, then all the 2 lakh panchayats will be made “Sustainable Clean and Green villages” within 5 year term under your great leadership. -------------------------------- Dear young friends, I am hoping at least some of you have the passion to transform your village by taking up this challenge as a leader or assist the local youth to achieve this mission. Dear young graduate friends, please do not feel bad that you are unemployed and feel dejected. If your village panchayat is able to implement it is well and good, you can assist them. Otherwise create a social enterprise by a group of youth. Form a social enterprise and create a JV with the local village panchayat to successfully implement this mission on revenue sharing basis in your village and create a self employment and provide employment opportunities to the youth. On successful implementation of this mission will further fund you to design and develop products and systems for local market as well as global market. Any help in this mission, you can reach me, let us join together and realize the mission of making our villages a Carbon Neutral, Clean and Green villages V PONRAJ vponraj@gmail
