Card 2 – Judgement – Judgement is the 20th card of the Major Arcana. Judgement is all about heeding the call, to rise up above, rebirth and absolution. The picture depicts Adam and Eve and their children rising from the grave to heed Archangel Gabriel’s judgement call. The mountains behind show the futility in trying to avoid judgement, that it is necessary to to pass through this phase in order to start a new cycle. This card calls us to self-evaluate, through meditation or quiet reflection, you are close to reaching a significant path on your journey. This card can also signal an epiphany, or awakening, that you know where you are in your life and where you need to go from here, that you have to be true to yourself. When this card appears it can suggest that you have learnt your lessons well, that you now know what you have to leave behind in order to move forward, it can also represent a new “calling” in life, something within you has awakened and is showing a new direction you need to take. It is time to rid yourself of guilt and sorrow about the past, time to leave the past behind and move forward. Now is the time to confront any unfinished business, clear misunderstanding and to look to the future with peace and a deeper sense of “knowing”. A new beginning is just around the corner.
