Card update: Yesterday, my mom said, Well, that poor mailman - TopicsExpress

Card update: Yesterday, my mom said, Well, that poor mailman didnt have to work so hard today. I got two cards. (Add New Mexico and Texas to the list of states.) I thought, oh, okay, so its starting to stop, now. Today, she called me and said the woman in the office had just brought her up what must be 75-100 cards. Is this todays mail? my mother asked, and the woman said, No, this is from YESTERDAY! So after todays mail arrives, my mother is going to count all the cards and give me an update. Meanwhile, please know that she continues to wax rhapsodic about how absolutely beautiful the cards are and how much the personal messages mean. (Do any of the cards have glitter? I asked, because Im a big fan of glitter. Oh...a good 70%! she said.) My sister said that my mom told her that when she was a young girl, she and her sisters would sometimes have a little bonfire, and my mother was always the one appointed to tell the ghost stories. Huh, I said. I never knew that. Me, either, my sister said. So in addition to everything else youve given by sending a card, you have also given us a story about our mom I dont think we ever would have known, otherwise. I like to picture my my as a kid, spinning stories out of the air, unaware that when she was 92 years old, shed write something that would be seen by so many. And that a gesture of kindness could multiply into something like a little miracle. Thank you again.
