Cardiorespiratory fitness in U.S. teens has fallen significantly - TopicsExpress

Cardiorespiratory fitness in U.S. teens has fallen significantly since 1999, according to a new report. Only 42.2% of teens had adequate levels of cardiorespiratory fitness in 2012, vs. 52.4% in 1999. Boys are more likely to be fit than girls, and fitness decreases as bodyweight increases. Help your kids buck the trend by making sure they get at least an hour of physical activity each day, and limit time in front of the TV and computer screen.
