Care when buying used cars the theme for National Consumer Week 2013 National Consumer Week is approaching on November 4, and this year focuses on used cars, and buying them wisely. Trading Standards North West are encouraging consumers to ‘check it, don’t regret it’ when buying a used car, asking yourself three key questions: ‘Is it safe. Is it legal. Is it what you want’. Consumer Week 2013 will have a strong presence on social media, with facebook/tradingstandardsnw and twitter/tsnorthwest looking to engage with the public. Also people tweeting on consumer week are encouraged to use the hashtag ‘#checkitdontregretit’ Cllr Yusuf Jan-Virmani, Executive Member for Neighbourhoods, Housing and Customer Service said: “This campaign is an important way to help people buying a used car make an informed choice, and not take a gamble as a used car with faults can be a danger to the driver, and to other road users.” A special information page will go live on Monday 4 November 2013 as part of the national campaign, which can be found at adviceguide.org.uk/usedcars
