Career Opportunity: RN, Therapeutic Apheresis - (KG10053) Job Requisition ID: KG10053 Job Title: RN, Therapeutic Apheresis Job Type: Full-Time Location: Providence, RI Post Date: 06/06/2014 Job Description: The Rhode Island Blood Center is currently seeking an RN for our Therapeutics program. Primary responsibilities include: · Perform therapeutic and cellular therapy procedures as part of the Therapeutic Apheresis Team, maintain a flexible work schedule and participate in the regular “on call” rotation. Continually monitor donor/patient condition, reporting to hospital staff when appropriate. Provide quality patient care and documentation. Able to work independently at the hospitals with a strong attention to detail and customer service to patients, their families, and hospital staff. · Demonstrate professional role as part of the Patient and Cellular Therapies team through: adherence to all policies and SOPs, exemplary venipuncture technique and clinical skills, the preservation of confidentiality, the provision of knowledgeable counseling for deferred donors/patients, and the ability to be observant of donors before, during, and after procedures. · Role-model teamwork with all staff and departments to achieve RIBC mission, be respectful of patient, donor and staff diversity, remain adaptable to different work surroundings and travel, demonstrate flexibility regarding schedule changes, while observant of donor flow and implementing changes to make improvements as necessary. · Demonstrate compliance with all Quality Management Plans and all standards related to the quality program through participation in the continuous quality improvement meetings, evaluating, and participating in audits and presenting findings/analysis. Ensure correct documentation and QA processes are followed including: principles of CGMPs, CGTPs, all FDA, AABB, FACT and OSHA regulations, annual competency requirements, Quality Control, validation, record keeping and routine daily maintenance of equipment and computers. · Write/validate SOPs and validation plans and work on other projects as assigned. Educational requirements: Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing preferred. Licensed as a registered professional nurse as necessary in Rhode Island. CPR certification. Experience Required: Two years of previous healthcare-related experience. Demonstrated clinical decision-making ability, including functional, technical, and direct patient/donor responsibilities. Human Resources and communication skills required. RN with donor room experience preferred. Must be able to successfully complete all required task qualifications and training programs for position.
