Caregiver Workshops hosted by Autism Community Network: Caregiver Workshops: August 23, 9:00 am-12:00 pm Introduction to Autism Would you like to learn more about autism spectrum disorder? This workshop will provide caregivers with basic answers about autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including defining ASD and describing its characteristics and diagnosis criteria. A general overview on treatments for ASD, with a focus on evidence-based practices, will also be presented. August 30, 9:00 am-12:00 pm Visual Supports Part I Would you like to learn how visual supports can help your child diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder? This workshop will inform caregivers about various visual supports that can be used to support children with autism spectrum disorder in home, school, and other community settings. September 5, 9:00 am-12:00 pm Visual Supports Part II Would you like to make visual supports to help your child diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder? This workshop will focus on teaching caregivers to create visual supports that can be used to support children with autism in home, school, and other community settings.
