Carers Australia’s Better Start for Children with Disability Moving Forward Workshop. The Moving Forward workshop supports families eligible for the Better Start Initiative with information to navigate the disability landscape. This workshop is for parents whose child is aged between 4 and 7 years and is preparing to commence/enter/transition school and broaden their contact with wider social environments and situations. The workshop focuses on: • The financial, social and emotional supports available after Better Start funding, and • How to best support their child through transitional stages such as education We hope that parents who attend the workshop will gain • Information and knowledge of support services for future assistance • The opportunity to make preparations for the years after Better Start The workshop will be relaxed and semi informal to allow parents to share their experiences and learn from others. When: Tuesday 25th February 2014. Where: TASCARE Society for Children - 231 Main Road, Derwent Park TAS 7009. Time: 9.30am – 2.30pm. The workshop is free with morning tea and lunch provided.
