Carike The one phrase that makes all the difference in this examination of critical thinking (that you posted) would seem to be ... willing to do the work required. Thats like a giant on-off switch. People can be so insistent in expressing their desire to reach a goal... to make and see something happen... but to never do whats covered in this video. And we watch and think, The people weve known whove set big goals and met them were totally willing to be wrong until they were right, and to try and fail and learn until they could see how to try and fail but then eventually succeed. They questioned, questioned, questioned. Others punched walls until they couldnt lift their arms, and the wall didnt really care. If How are we wrong? and How is this approach wrong? are not the main things we want to find out, then what is? We could say, I want to prove Im right, but, if were not actually right, weve established an arbitrary target far out of reach. We can end up looking like were standing in a field of daisies (albeit happily and determinedly), jumping for the sun. And thats the switch: The Ability to be Clearly Wrong, a Lot switch. As long as its set to OFF, we will never be able to ask, Can I reach the sun?... and can feel justified to spend our lives jumping for it with all our might. (And wanting/trying SO hard.)
