Carly Rose is doing very well! Thank you to all who have been - TopicsExpress

Carly Rose is doing very well! Thank you to all who have been keeping our daughter in prayer and encouraging her with comments, likes and messages here. Its been wonderful to see her self-esteem growing as she feels more and more that she is special and people do care about her. For the past couple of weeks, we were giving some thought to closing this page. Several criticisms and judgments had come our way and there was a question in our minds of whether or not to continue the page. Among one of the common messages we receive is stuff like your daughter looks fine, why are you doing this, youre doing this just to get attention, you exaggerate how sick she is, if she were sick thered be photos and videos of her in the hospital...etc. Having a bit of time tonight, wed like to clarify a few misunderstandings. Carly Rose does look fine most of the time. We dont exaggerate her conditions. We promised ourselves we would keep photos and videos of Carly Roses worst times private. Were not interested in posting anything graphic showing her post-op or going through something painful. Were doing this mostly because it was her idea (after seeing similar pages of other kids with illnesses) and she benefits from it. Were not doing this to get attention for ourselves but cannot deny Carly Rose enjoys the attention ;-) This page, her journey, is meant to be an outlet for our family to boast about Carly Roses achievements, happy times, things she does for fun, new things she tries, her smiles and her laughter! We didnt create this page to tell only stories of the unpleasant and difficult parts of her journey. Sadly, our daughter is permanently disabled and does have a list of unfortunate medical conditions and diagnoses. When the time arrives that it is appropriate for us to post something more graphic, perhaps we will. There will never be such posts merely to prove to skeptics who want to see such pictures or videos. We will not post photos of her post surgical scars - shes a developing pre-teen! She sees this page, helps choose what is posted, no way will we be posting revealing photos of our almost 10 year old daughter! We find it sad there are a number of people who have asked us to prove our daughter truly has the illnesses she has. She struggles in so many ways in some many areas of her life - not the least of which is her sense of self-worth. This page has been helping her to blossom and gain confidence in who she is and build her self-esteem! In closing, to those who have been vigilant in supporting us and our daughter, a big huge *THANK YOU* from the bottom of our hearts. This journey, ten years in the making, has been a great one with plenty of bumps and snags and we hope youll stick around to enjoy watching our daughters continued journey as she grows and changes! :)
