Carmella, formerly known as Savannah, is also spending time at Claires, in medical foster after Dr. Snook repaired a fractured back leg. This is the girl who was rescued in Jemez by the wonderful people of Animal Amigos. She was essentially abandoned, had to forage for food and was hit by a vehicle and suffered for months before being rescued. In spite of her early life, she is a gracious dog who loves people and other animals. Claire says she still wont take treats and doesnt know what to do with toys, but is starting to love soft doggy beds and other comforts. Michelle with the group wrote that Savannah is one of the loves of my life. She is the truest ambassador for the Pit Bull breed. Santa Fe Shelter took her for us as she had medical issues way beyond our abilities and now she is doing so much better. Thank you Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society for helping us help this precious baby girl! Were hoping to drum up interest in this girl so that she can find a forever home soon.
