Carmen Lingenfelter has a question for the mamas on here: what do you do to encourage a child to slow down with his math, and not rush through? He gets the concepts firmly, but he tends to just rush through and make massive mistakes through negligence. Were on column addition, and it seems anything over 3 sets of numbers he doesnt want to focus on. Im trying to slow him down, stay right beside him, Ive taught him a variety of methods to use, but he just doesnt want to take the time. If I walk him through it, or consistently remind him to focus, he gets it perfectly. On his own, thats another matter. Help!! I think I may lose my mind before we get past this (if it isnt gone already)!!!!
