Carragher - I cant see Cech being at Chelsea in two weeks Jamie Carragher has backed Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech to leave the club within the next two weeks. Jamie Carragher revealed on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football that he can’t see goalkeeper Petr Cech being a Chelsea player come September 2. Jose Mourinho showed his hand last night when he selected Thibaut Courtois to start ahead of the experienced Czech and the former Liverpool defender believes the writing is on the wall for the long serving Chelsea icon. “We’re talking about a guy (Courtois) who could be Chelsea’s goalkeeper for the next 10-15 years – I just can’t see Cech being at the club past the next two weeks,” said Carragher. Mourinho has said that he hopes Cech will stay and fight with Courtois for game time and has described the situation as similar to when he first arrived at the club and challenged Carlo Cudicini. “Ten years ago I also had a very difficult decision to make when we had (Carlo) Cudicini giving fantastic performances in Chelseas goal for many years. I had in my hands a 22-year-old goalkeeper I thought could be in Chelseas goals for years and years and years and this situation is quite similar,” said Mourinho. Courtois’ all round game against Burnley looked solid and he didn’t put a foot wrong against a side that looked to get under his skin physically to try and give themselves an advantage. Do you think Cech should stay at Chelsea or move on? #Dalai
