Carragher has also hailed the acquisition of Kolo Toure as his Anfield replacement. The Ivorian centre-back arrived on a free transfer from Manchester City. He said: “I’ve had a couple of chats with Kolo and he’s one of the nicest people you could ever meet. “He’s a great character and has huge enthusiasm for the game. He also has a lot of experience at big clubs and of winning trophies. “Before Steven Gerrard’s testimonial he was getting all the lads going in the dressing room. He didn’t cost a penny and is a great acquisition.”
