Carrie gets a new blood-spattered TV spot: watch now The new spot confirms that the film has received an R-rating, suggesting that Peirce hasn’t pulled any punches in bringing Stephen King’s classic tale back to the big screen. That rating will likely put something of a dent in the film’s box office take, although with no obvious horror competition lined up in the US for October, the film could still perform well, given its modest budget. If nothing else, that bucket of pigs’ blood looks even more grotesque than it did the first time round, while Julianne Moore looks set to steal the show as our heroine’s religiously unhinged mother.
