Case 14-0047, arrived Mar 15: This mature female Coopers Hawk was brought in after she hit a window in Atlanta. Despite being very alert and feisty (which is par for the course with this species), she has a concussion and is unable to stand. She is being treated with pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medication to reduce the brain and spinal swelling. This species is an Accipiter, which is the group of hawks that prefer birds such as dove and sparrows as their main meal.
