Casey and Racers In Christ finish 10th at Ohio Valley Speedway 6/10/13 Racers In Christ, along with driver Bryan Casey, made their first trip to Ohio Valley Speedway in Washington, WV on Saturday June 8, 2013. With a total of twenty eight Late Models signed in, the Racers In Christ, Casey Racing #25 Late Model started fourth in the heat race. Bryan moved up to the third spot early but slipped back to fifth, two spots from the final transfer spot. Casey would start third in the second consi. After two laps into the consi, it looked like the evening was going to be a short one when previous week’s winner, Paul Wilmouth, made the pass to put the #25 one position out of the transfer spot. “I remembered dad telling me that if someone gets around you, they must be doing something right,” Bryan said. He began to mirror Wilmouth and with three laps to go made the pass and pulled away to earn a third place finish and the final starting position in the feature. “I thought it was over when Paul got around us, Bryan did a heck of a job and drove the wheels off of the car,” stated Tony Dillow. Starting eighteenth the team knew they had a long way to go but were excited to be in the feature with the caliber of cars in attendance. After a gear change, the team anxiously awaited the start of the feature. “It was Awesome to be at the track and see Bryan and the car perform so well in the consi” stated Jesse Dillow of RIC. Steve Casey, Bryan’s dad said, “I wanted to stay with the gear we had in the car but Bryan felt he would do better with the change so we made the change. The plan was to wait a few laps and see what everyone was going to do, and then start moving toward the front. As planned, Casey was up to the tenth spot on lap ten when a caution flew. Bryan battled two cars for several laps and moved to the seventh position. After jumping the cushion in turns one and two, two laps later Bryan spun in three and four. After restarting eleventh, Casey made a last lap pass to finish tenth. “Something was wrong with the right rear after I jumped the cushion. We had a top five car, but we will take tenth with the talent that was here,” Casey said. The Racers In Christ Team plans to be at Jackson County Speedway in Jackson, Ohio Saturday, 6/15/13, and West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells WV, on Sunday, 6/16/13.
