Cashier/ Junior Admin Clerk Area: Menlyn Age: 20 – 25 yrs Position Type: Permanent Salary: R5 000 – R6 200 basic excluding provident fund and medical aid (portion covered by employer, depending on the medical package chosen by employee) Working hours: Monday to Friday 07H30 - 17H30, Saturdays & Public holidays 07H30 - 13H30 all depends on how busy the store gets and needs to be able to work overtime Tuesdays: Staff meeting at 07H00 Please Note: The stores have 3 stock takes a year; this is done after work on a Saturday and can carry on till 23h00 A large network fitment centre are looking for young presentable and friendly cashiers Job/Function Outputs & Related Activities 1- Process Payments Received • Check invoice for outstanding amounts • Receive payments • Process payments • Balance cash up 2- Monitor, Collate & File Documentation • File invoice and credit notes and picking slips • Collate and file banking papers (including fidelity) • Attach bank stamped deposit slips to banking • Complete and follow up on missing document register • Monitor & report outstanding cash sales • Fax proof of deliveries • Fax intercompany orders to stores • Fax quotes to Customers 3- Issue Receipts • Correct info on receipts • Issue receipt • Capture receipt 4-Prepare & Collate Credit Notes • Prepare invoice to be credited • Collate credit notes with invoice to credit note report • Sends to store manager for approval • File credit note 5- Organize own function • Check cash floats • Conducts float hand over • Housekeeping of cashier area • Answer phones • Take and pass on messages • Order required change i.e. money Critical Cross Field Outcomes • Interacts & works with Customers, store staff, management & other departments (e.g. Admin, cash book, creditors, debtors & GL etc) • Planning, organizing and evaluating own work or work processes • Participates in discussions & meetings • Using / understanding computer related programs/software (UNIX, EXCEL, OUTLOOK) • Identify & enhance systems, processes / any areas for improvement Knowledge and Understanding Technology of field • Basic Product knowledge • Basic Selling skills • Handling customers • Using computer programs & software (4GL) • Advanced Telephone skills • Admin related functions i.e. cash up, invoicing, receiving cash etc • Basic Knowledge of business operating process’s • Listening Skills • Writing skills • Basic ECO Time management system • Knowledge and understanding of Current Campaigns • Knowledge and understanding of payment types and products i.e. debit cards Value systems and culture • Integrity • Assertive • Deadline orientated • Independent minded • Collaborative • Customer orientated • Attention to detail • Positive approach to work/relationships Must be able to speak Afrikaans Must be able to work in a busy environment and handle pressure Send CV to [email protected]
