Casting a a prominent star in other star’s movie is just a method to increase the satellite right or a way to en cash the star value of that particular star. Most of the cases these characters are added intentionally. But Niranjan in summer in Bethlehem is not just a cameo role. Till climax it’s a movie of Suresh Gopi- Manju Warrior -Jayaram trio. The moment, the fade in shot of Niranjan inside the jail bars comes then it became the story of Niranjan. Mohanlal as Niranjan simply walked away with the entire movie with his 8.5 minutes screen presence. The way he delivered this last lengthy dialogue “നാല് വയസ്സുകാരിയായ അയാളുടെ മകളുടെ അറ്റ് പോയ കുഞ്ഞി കൈ എന്റെ ദേഹത്ത് വന്നു വീണത് . ആ കൈവിരലുകള് അപ്പോഴും ചലിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്തോ തിരയുന്നപോലെ ...should definitely move you. !!Niranjan…just an 8.5 minute appearance but the most terrific cameo role in Malayalam!!…
