Castlepoint Summary: I thought freaks only hung out at Union Square. Apparently, Penn Station becomes Union Square at random points. Met up with the bros Danny Chen and Ven Keta and approximately 8:30AM on the dot, while Aaron Torres decided to straggle. Walk up to the con with no Chock Full O Nuts in sight, and take a million years to get cosplays ready. Random encounter with infected. Once badges were obtained ( Sailor Moon? Gettin fancy now ) right off the bat, familiars were spotted. Most notably Tree D Ga and Aliyah Bolden, who randomly decided today was a day to be an absolute bully to me. And then there was the ever so energetic Radiance Eren Jones ( the word RADIANT is in her name after all ) who as soon as I walk out the registration door yells WILL!!! And would do as such again as I was trotting down the hill upon my eventual exit of the con. The dealers room sucked horribad this year. I was hoping that somebody would be selling Vanguard cards so that I could buy another deck. Nope. Someone was selling Dot Hack cards, but I was like let me not. The price of the Pumpkin Head keyblade went from last years $18 to $36 plus tax this year. So that was a huge hell no, along with a double nein for a single AoT sword. Ace Holiday: Is that Willie? Chrissi DeCosta: HI!!! Congrats. You are the only table in the entire room that I actually bought something from. I wouldve bought more ( I really couldnt decide so I just went with who I thought Id cosplayed best so far. NEEDS MORE MASRUR/REN FAMILY ) but I had food/transportation budgeting on my mind. Relax Chrissi. Nobody is going to bite your head off ( except maybe me LOL ) Once youre part of a group, it seems that you cant escape members of it. Had encounters with Savious Harrell, Kris Segarra, Shapale Desiree Boykins and Min Chan Kwon throughout the day. With the help of Alexander Ramdin, I was able to capture some pictures with some fellow Panty and Stocking cosplayers that were willing to give me a few moments to swap cosplays and join in with them ( one pair even knew the transformation incantation. Extra kudos for that ) Panty: You better have some panties on you. Me: *Pulls out boxers* Lets do this. Christopher Quito: FLAREON!!! Me: JOLTEON!!! *Cue Chariots of Fire run* Eeveelution parties happening all around with Stephanie Balbuena, Jesus Echavarria and Jonathan Abreu Bello. No chance at kereokee ( it was oddly packed this year ) but I did get my discount Pocky and Ramune. Sat through a Crispin Freeman Q&A. I hate it when people ask the same crap and or sound like the stereotypical geeks that are depicted on tv. Also, Im PRETTY sure its proper etiquette to NOT give gifts during the session. And common sense to look up work that the guest has ACTUALLY done. Why in the blue bloody crap would you INSIST on asking a question about Attack on Titans when he has NOTHING to do with it whatsoever ( *cue Family Guy Star Trek q&a segment ) Cosplay music video with my boy Kevin Tong woot.
