Catch the premiere of The Bridge Rising on Sunday as part of the Celtic Connections festival. SKYE BRIDGE PROTEST CELEBRATED IN MUSIC AND FILM In the days before social media, the Isle of Skye took on the Bank of America and won. Now the story of how the residents of Skye rid themselves of crippling bridge tolls has been made into a feature film that will be the first film and music collaboration to feature in the Celtic Connections festival. The premiere screening of the feature length Bridge Rising, originally a shorter documentary made by the Mediaco-op, will open and close with live musical performances this weekend. The musicians, themselves central to the fight to remove the tolls, are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the victory with the release of the film’s soundtrack.
