Catch up for 31 Days of Prayer: October 28th For God’s strength, wisdom and discernment as we engage with new participating churches and encourage them as they begin this journey with Operation Christmas Child. “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10 The church is the hope for this world. And children are the hope for the next generation. Let’s pray that these new churches will capture that vision of what God is doing around the world. He is at work, seeking and saving children through the local church and a shoebox. October 29th For the final preparations taking place in our three processing centers, Cambridge, Calgary and in the GTA; for the processing center staff and for the safety for all who will serve in these centers. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38 Jesus words to His disciples are His words to us today. We may think that we can never leave our country or our home to be a missionary. Through Operation Christmas Child, you are doing just that– sharing the good news with families all over the world. October 30th That the sea containers carrying shoebox gifts will reach their destinations all over the world without problems or delays. “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.” Acts 16:9-10 The Apostle Paul had a God-given assignment to share the good news of the Gospel to a particular group of people, he felt a sense of urgency to be on his way. Pray for the process of shipping these shoebox gospel opportunities, that they would not be delayed in arriving at their intended destination. Pray for grace in the eyes of custom officials in each country that the boxes would pass without delay. October 31st For the successful worldwide implementation of The Greatest Journey discipleship program. For the teachers and pastors who are praying and preparing for these exciting classes. “For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.” Ezra 7:10 Heavenly Father, we pray for your Holy Spirit to fill the hearts, and minds of both pastors and teachers, as they take on the crucial responsibility of teaching the children during the 12 lessons of The Greatest Journey. Grant them grace, patience and your love for the children you will be entrusting under their care. November 1st For all the new collection centers and volunteers serving in their first year. “I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers, because I hear of your love and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints; and I pray that the fellowship of your faith may become effective through the knowledge of every good thing which is in you for Christ’s sake.” Philemon 4-6 What a privilege to partner with so many people in order to carry out the mission of Operation Christmas Child. Lord, we thank you for the new collection centers and a fresh new group of enthusiastic volunteers. Give each one of them confidence, peace and lots of energy as they start the new season.
