Catching up on #cambodia news , I notice the press and notably the #cambodiadaily alongside the NGOs are doing the job of the opposition when the #cnrp is doing its regular disappearing acts: - Challenging the government to explain its policies and actions - Questioning the opposition party #cnrp strategy and direction - Demanding accountability and transparency from the government - Denouncing corruption, impunity and nepotism. - Uncovering scams ( #somalymam ), siphoning of aids and grants at the Ministry of Health. #Globalfunds - Proving beyond reasonable doubt the death of innocent bystanders caused by security forces - Posting and publishing articles in cambodian to reach a wider audience. A true public service. - Taking on the role of the opposition to question the national budget and the danger of misappropriation by the government. - Inviting scholars, political personality and the public to express their views in their columns. And last but not least, the twitter warriors, the gang of four Kevin Doyle, Colin Meyn, Robert Carmichael, and Lauren Crothers reporting online and on the streets.
