Catering Supervisor Educational Requirements: Matric Hospitality or food and beverage diploma would be an advantage Experience Requirements: Must have at least 2 – 5 Years’ experience in the same role Must have experience in the Food and Beverage Industry / Hospitality Must be computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook and Pilot Software Must be well spoken and able to communicate in English Own Transport Responsibilities: To report and where possible take action for any customer or clients complaint or compliments. Ensure that all food and beverage areas within your department are standardised with regard to cleanliness, hygiene, tidiness & occupational health & safety. Strive in the achievement of total customer satisfaction by ensuring that every customer is given polite, friendly and personal service. Strive for zero customer complaints. Turn customer complaints and potential negative customers into positive ones. Implement and monitor all cleaning & safety initiatives. Oversee the monitoring of the hygiene levels with prompt and efficient action in problem areas. Ensure that pre-shift briefings are conducted on arrival of your Employees. Ensure that all safe work procedures are consistently applied. Take ownership of the people & cost management for the department under your control to achieve financial & productivity targets. Ensure that the prescribed standard of service is maintained in your areas. Ensure that all stocks are maintained to adequate levels according to Company standards, including chemicals, machinery and operating equipment. Ensure that acceptable levels of hygiene & cleanliness are maintained in ensuring that scores of at least 95% are maintained at all times in your area(s) on the hygiene & safety assessments as and when conducted. Ensure that all unit employees are trained in principles of customer and service management, and that these standards are consistently applied. To ensure that all methods of cleaning comply with current recognised catering, bartending standards within the budgeted costs laid down by the Company, and they comply with health & safety regulations. Ensure that all operational equipment is in good working order. Ensure that a daily cleaning programme for all areas is in place, following up on a regular basis. Liaise with contractors (e.g. hygiene) ensuring contract agreements are maintained, doing spot checks when required. To ensure that Company and statutory regulations pertaining to the safety and hygiene operations of both back & front of house areas and ancillary areas are adhered to by all members of staff and that all food and beverages are prepared in the most hygienic manner possible. To ensure that all areas under your control are clean and tidy as is reasonably practical at all times according to the instructions laid down by management and that stock is used in rotation. To ensure that all equipment surfaces and work areas are in a clean and safe working condition and to report to management any defects or malfunction of equipment. To carry out any reasonable request by management in the functioning of the smooth operations of the areas. To prepare and assist at any special functions, which may also sometimes be out of normal working hours. Ensure that time and attendance registers are kept up to date to maximise salaries control. Ensure the highest standards maintenance in all areas. Ensure timeous delivery of orders once placed. Be on hand during at all times to monitor standards of cleaning & hygiene. Ensure that the Food & Beverage equipment is in working order. Ensure that daily, weekly and monthly reports are handed in prior to the deadlines as explained and acknowledged by you. Ensure that budgets are adhered to and variances to the budget to be explained in detail to the Operations Manager. Ensure all Pilot purchases are up-kept, and captured correctly. Ensure all Pilot admin related functions are maintained as per the standard. Balancing of stock daily, weekly and monthly Reporting on all stock Receive and packing of stock in respective places and use FIFO Issuing of stock to bar and kitchens Stock order and purchases Managing bar and kitchen Manage all health and safety regulations for the portfolio Management of staff and all adherence to policies and procedures Making sure purchases are loaded on Pilot Ensuring all purchases are paid Adhere to policies and procedure in place General Admin Additional information: Salary R 8 000 per month Hours : 09h00 – 18h00, 13h00 - 21h00, 16h00 – 01h00 Candidate need to be 23 and older and able to start immediately Location: Johannesburg – East Rand Mall Please send your CV to [email protected] or visit us at jobgiant.co.za
