God, in His compassionate love, promises to Israel, while being in exile and against all hopes, liberation and a return to their own land. This promise, is its spiritual sense, is seen to be fulfilled, when God calls on Mary to give birth to the Messiah with Joseph as the foster father. Both accept God’s design and cooperate with GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION.
