THE ANSWER IS YES and secondly the power belongs to the Holy Spirit who lives in us.; People like Van Anderseck does not grasp the working of the Holy Spirit IRREVOCABLE GIFTS Ever heard the doctrine?: “If you experience peace with this word, take it and exercise your gift, it is irrevocable, it is permanent it is irreversible, it is binding to the day your soul leaves your body.” This saying is said according to 1 Corinthians 12 BUT ! This is only conditionally true. The “gift” from where this truth is taken is from, and are explained from or reflected in, is Romans 11:29; “FOR GOD’S GIFTS AND HIS CALL ARE IRREVOCABLE.” Yes ! But NOT the nine gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:8 to 10 (Word of wisdom, Word of knowledge, Discerning of spirits, Faith, Healing Miracles, Prophecy, Diverse tongues, Interpretation of Tongues) The Irrevocable GIFT meant in Romans 11:29, refers to the Greek word “charizomai, khar-id-zom-ahee” from the Greek Concordance #G5483; a (divine) gratuity, that is, deliverance from danger or passion; specifically a spiritual endowment, that is an religious qualification, or (objectively) miraculous faculty: free gift. The Christian’s deliverance from sin, his/her salvation is meant here and his/her deliverance from evil by the Blood of Jesus Christ and his/her calling is irrevocable. Our relation to God is based on our faith in the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ of God, Romans 3:21, 2 Corinthians 5 , Romans 5, Ephesians 2:4-8 The GIFTS meant in 1 Corinthians 12:8 to 10 are not irrevocable and the ability to administer these gifts will fade if one does not stay in the presence of God the Holy Spirit. One has to be exposed to the Holy Spirit. There are nine gifts divided in three groups. 1 Corinthians 12; REVELATION GIFTS - gifts that REVEAL something Word of Wisdom v8 Word of Knowledge v8 Discerning of Spirits v10 POWER GIFTS - gifts that DO something Faith v9 Healings v9 Miracles v10 INSPIRATION GIFTS - gifts that SAY something Prophecy v10 Diverse Tongues v10 Interpretation of Tongues v10 Your spiritual endowments from God through the Holy Spirit are conditional, sectional, relating to and subject to your willingness to operate it or exhibit the Holy Spirit in your works but their totality relies on God. Wiling or unwilling of our cooperation to them, the fruit is exposed by our character in our lifestyle it does not show unless our character is exposed to the Holy Spirit and the gifts are exposed when and without our character when Gods power comes upon us ! This is a serious. Do not recall the negative of your past, do not replace the living Word of God with presumptions. Confirm every word with God in prayer, let the peace of God that is in you, rule your mind and your heart, let it rule your most inner being, let peace be your judge. Dreams and prophecy should be treated and tested equally, as explained supra. Prophesy, this gift of the Most High God is to be pampered. Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire this love make it your aim, your great quest, and earnestly desire and cultivate this spiritual endowment that God allows you to interpret His Divine Will and Purpose in inspired preaching and teaching, for whoever Jesus causes to cross your way. Seek earnestly God’s face to receive the nine gifts in 1 Corinthians 12. Telling forth the divine counsels, see the visions, see the divinely granted appearances and dream the divine dreams, according to 1Cor 14:1, Job 4 and Job 33. 1Corinthians 14:32; “ For the spirits of the prophets are under the speakers control and subject to being silenced as may be necessary For He Who is the source of their prophesying is not a God of confusion and disorder but of peace and order. As[is the practice] in all the churches of the saints (Gods people) Revelation 19:10; “And he the Angel said to me, I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, FOR THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.” Cloth yourself with humility, a behavior that fits God 1Peter 5:5. . .all of you, CLOTH YOUSELF with humility as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot possibly be stripped from you, with freedom from pride and arrogance toward one another. For God sets Himself against the proud, the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, scorners, the presumptuous, the boastful, and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them, but gives Grace favor, blessing to the humble. In 1Peter 4:1 Christ suffered in the flesh for us, for you, arm yourselves with the same thought and purpose, patiently to suffer rather than fail to please God. For whoever has suffered in the flesh having the mind of Christ is done with intentional sin has stopped pleasing himself and the world, and pleases God. You have the mind of Christ and hold the thoughts, feelings and purposes of His heart. Stay in the spirit, walk and live habitually in the Holy Spirit, be controlled and guided by the Spirit as reflected in Galatians 5:16- 25, then you will be able to tell mountains of human obstacles to lift themselves up and be removed (Mark 11:23) because it is not by power nor by might by My Spirit says the Lord(Zechariah 4:6) Be Blessed Herman Le Roux Proverb’s Bible School South Africa 0823395915 I encourage you; find every reference that uses the word Christ in the New Testament. Each time Christ is used translate it into the Anointed and His Anointing. Then meditate on the new revelation of this meaning in each scripture. Start with the verses that say in Christ or through Christ and translate them in (through) the Anointed and (through) His Anointing. It will change your life. If youre in Christ, theres an anointing FOR EVERYTHING YOU ARE CALLED TO DO no matter how small or how great the task. That is what the Apostle Paul meant when he said, I can do all things through Christ (the Anointed and His Anointing) which strengthened me (Philippians 4:13). Notice that he didnt say who strengthened me but which strengthened me. He was talking about the anointing. The same anointing that enabled you to be born again will heal your body, help you succeed in business, and empower you to prosper spirit, soul, body and in every aspect of your life.
