Cats of all kinds have been showing up a lot in my dreams and journeys lately. I was told by a jaguar spirit last night that humans have tried too hard to make cats like dogs. Cats can make totally loyal companions and guides as long as we give them their freedom and not try to restrain them in any way. They have a great affinity for humans as long as we give them their autonomy. They will come back to us over and over again as familiars. In the Inquisition, many cats were killed and burned along with their human companions because they were believed to be attached to a witches power. The magic between us goes back thousands of years. My cat died two weeks ago when she was hit by a car. We kept her as in indoor cat for the first couple years of her life and decided to take the risk and let her out when she started becoming crazy and neurotic. She died only two months after we started letting her outside, but those two months she was blissfully happy and free. She returned to her true cat nature. I spoke with her spirit last night and she thanked me for her freedom. It was hard to lose her because I know we have been friends many times before. But I know our relationship will continue into the future in new and magical forms. Plants and animals are similar in that they are so ready and willing to be helpers and guides to us humans (as they have for thousands and thousands of years in the past). All they ask is that we stop viewing them as inferior, approach them with openness and treat them with the utmost respect. I believe re-forming respectful relationships with plants and animals is part of bringing this planet back into balance. Like if you agree!
