Cats versus Cows Day 357 There are a couple of friends along Base Line Boulevard that raise cows near where I live. One day a fellow came and asked the first farmer. “What do you feed your cows?” “I feed them the best clover and grass in the area along with alfalfa hay, nothing but the best.” He replied. “Why?” “Because I’m from the Animal Protection Association and I don’t think it’s fair that the wild animals near your farm don’t eat as well as your cows do!” Then he fined the farmer. A week later another fellow came to see the second farmer. “What do you feed your cows?” He asked. “Nothing but the best corn and oats and the finest fescue grass in the country,” the second farmer replied. “Why?” “Because I’m from the United Nations Organization and I think it’s unfair that you feed your cows like that when there are starving people dying with nothing to eat. Then he fined the second farmer. A week later another fellow showed up at my door. “What do you feed your cows?” He asked. I hesitated for a second and said, “Well, I give each cow five dollars at meal time so they can buy and eat whatever they want!” Cats 157 Cows 200
