The felt is hand-rolled using wool from her own sheep and that of other local farmers , and alpaca . Linda uses her own hand made soap and the local soft water in the making , colours and effects ; or she uses un-dyed natural sheep and alpaca colours and fleece textures with stone, leather and horn fastenings . Sometimes beach-combed findings are incorporated , particularly sea-sourced glass and pottery fragments. She avoids plastics and man– made fibres and fabrics . Many of the dyes are her own, produced from natural local vegetation. Linda holds the Peak District Environmental. Quality mark for the sustainable nature of the work, and its use of local and recycled materials.
