Caught up with Mary from Woodend Beach this week. Mary is the mainstay of the Ferry Road planting which has been initiated by a few of the beach residents and it looks great. The week seems to have been one long walk for me as I went through all of the traplines. I did get some respite with the regular school groups in. Im pretty sure it was a yellowhead I saw this week. I did get a photo but looks like a yellow blur. Also a Kotare at the lagoon. Oh yes and Leanne and Lan were in to take a look at some of the mudfish sites. Leanne has some great ideas about protection and enhancement of habitat and identified some great sites. We finally look like we are getting some interest in the pa harakeke project which will be very exciting for our community. Next week I am meeting with the WDC Audit Committee and picking up a waka from nelson. I hope the expected weather this weekend isnt anywhere as bad as it is being suggested. A big happy birthday to Jodie D in Kaikoura and also to Billy Crystal.
