Caunan, Marisol Ellaine S. It seems to be a survival response to an extremely threatening environment. This protozoan is seen here undergoing a fascinating and complex transformation. When the conditions become threatening, as they have here due to the rapidly evaporating water in this sample, the organism is able to quickly section off a piece of itself.
