Cause its late... And thats when I get morbid. Im adding this to my thoughts on funerals and what is socially acceptable vs what is right for me research. Some other categories include: requests to have someone from the funeral home dress up as the grim reaper (the person in the lobby who tells you where things are located by pointing - because everyone should be granted that first inappropriate laugh after a loss AS SOON AS POSSIBLE) and the person who decides on whether to bury me, cremate me, donate my body for scientific research, donate my body for art (Body Works), donate my organs or turn me into a gem or perhaps a tree... Whoever it is... I want them to have a reason why that was the decision. I dont care whether you declare it in an obituary or a eulogy or not. I care that you go through the process of having to think it through because itll activate the rational side of your brain and temporarily detach you from the emotional side. Hopefully youll stay detached long enough to gain a few moments of reprieve. Side Note: for any of my family/friends that are part of any of these decisions... I dont have any actual preferences... I want you to do what brings YOU peace and restores your memories from sad to happy once again.
