It is even translated into different languages. It was popularized by the band Phylum and was covered by David DiMuzio ( is an American musician ) and Anna Rubtsun (dumbed in the Philippines as the Pretty Russian). Bisan pa (even though) is one of the best singles of 2000 when Bisrock is at its peak. BisRock is a subgenre of Pinoy rock, propagated by the Cebu rock music industry. The term, which is in the blended form, comes from the Cebuano words Bisaya, referring the Visayan language, and rock, for rock music. Earning wide reception among the young in the Visayas and Mindanao, Bisrock is a fairly recent cultural phenomenon. The style started around the 1980s, when Cebus rock scene was beginning to be labeled as Bisrock. During this time, a group of musicians from the University of San Carlos coined the local music scene as Bisrock in support of patriotism for the Cebuano music scene. Cebuano rock bands popularizing songs written in the Cebuano language like Missing Filemon ,Iron Smoke ,Lion Kilat, 1017, Aggressive Audio, Phylum and many more.
