Celebrate Halloween this year by participating in an old (APCG) - TopicsExpress

Celebrate Halloween this year by participating in an old (APCG) tradition! In the past we have asked students/alumni to sculpt creepy heads, but this year, every discipline can participate how they see fit. Here are the rules: 1) You have to post your final to CGC Facebook page With title: Halloween Submission by MIDNIGHT OCTOBER 30TH so we can all vote and critique. 2) Must be about Halloween in some fashion, either utilizing iconic symbols (like pumpkins), traditions (like Trick-or-treating), or the mood (like scary). This is very open to interpretation, and can stretch across cultures that celebrate something similar (Samhain and others welcome). 3) Must be in a medium that you can use in your portfolio (See what I did there?). 4) I encourage all of you to think about what components will go into this and ask if it would be wise to get help. Many of you will need a concept, model, or some sort of foundation to finish this in a month, so dont be ashamed to team up or find references to make this easier (most professionals only focus on their contribution, everyone does it). Give credit where credit is due. 5) You define what is complete. If you would be proud of it in your portfolio untextured or just key framed or sketched, go for it! 6) You can have as many submissions you have time for, but be aware that 5 unpolished pieces could have been 1 Very polished portfolio piece. Choose wisely! 7) On Halloween, we will all take a look and pick our top 2 favorites. In order to vote, you have to give a 1-2 sentence critique to ALL of the submissions by midnight of November 2nd (so the end of that day), and place the word Treat in the comments of only 2 others (cannot vote for yourself). YOU CANNOT BE NAMED WINNER IF YOU DO NOT CRITIQUE ALL SUBMISSIONS AND VOTE TWICE. The winner will be announced the morning of November 3rd and shall be named Master Artist until the next contest names a new champion. PM me for questions or concerns.
