Celebrating Us Today On this day at our wedding, Cynthia and I - TopicsExpress

Celebrating Us Today On this day at our wedding, Cynthia and I listened to one of the most dynamic messages Ive ever heard, Two Are Better: 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. [Ecclesiastes Chapter 4] It truly was the prophetic gift to our love, our union and our mission. And since, God has been amazingly faithful and we have too. Today, I celebrate being one of the two that has simply made our lives all around better together. Thats the marriage context signed, sealed and delivered by the hand and heart of Almighty God; two people making life better for one another. For the greater part of marriage is never lived out in the public arena of others, but foremost in the privacy of a home between just two people. And its only the two people who know whether their togetherness creates a relating context of the better or the worst. Even this morning reading our respective cards and sharing reflective moments, our messages was so synergistic. Were simply better as two and with great gratefullness. I celebrate finding a good wife, a good woman, a good Christian, a good human being, a good missionary, a good friend and a good partner. And I celebrate our home environment weve created for ourselves by Gods goodness and grace, which I believe tells more about the heart of a marriage than any public forum, even a religious or ministry context. Im thankful for laughter, joy, peace, joint quirky habits, a true sense of togetherness, the ladies lounge and the man cave, and always coming home to a smiling inviting face (Cynthia). And finally, I celebrate a sense of true God-given mission to fulfill the Great Commission about our marriage and lives. I remember telling Cynthia during our dating period, I couldnt be married just to be married for marriage sake without Gods purposes being fulfilled. And you know what? She got me, perfectly! Because neither was it her desire to be married just for marriage sake. For years, Cynthia prayed for a man that holds missions ministry dear to his heart and she got one. Were grateful for a marriage where missions ministry makes sense to one another as, together were convince: God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. [John 3:16] Its a great day to celebrate us. And we shall, all weekend long and for a lifetime.
